Make a difference in our community by helping us create a more sustainable future

We’ll do our best to ensure you’re:

  • Recognized for your efforts—we host volunteers-only field trips and events a few times a year!
  • Treated with respect and dignity
  • Given any training you might need in your role
  • Encouraged to voice concerns, issues, and new ideas
  • Provided the ability to choose volunteer contributions that fit your schedule and areas of interest

In return, we request that you:

  • Represent Louisville Audubon in a responsible and professional manner
  • Act ethically and with integrity; champion diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Bring a passion for conservation and a desire to take action
  • Are serious about your commitment to volunteering

What we ask of our volunteers:

  • Be responsive to email and communicate regularly with our Education and Outreach committee
  • Maintain your Louisville Audubon Society membership, or become a member at a monthly or annual $ contribution that works for you
  • Learn about and stay up to date on our mission and our programs, such as Lights Out Louisville
  • Have, or be willing to learn, some bird ID skills (calls; field marks; habitats; behaviors; etc.)
  • Be willing to support our in-person events (for example, when we staff a table at a local festival or lead bird walks/field trips)
